Principles for Cultivating Our Safe Space

Be aware and respectful of others’ feelings, thoughts and experiences. We all have something to contribute!
Maintain a welcoming environment that allows other people to share openly.
Slandering is not permitted. We should all be able to communicate effectively.
Gossiping is not allowed. Keep a respectful environment.
Come to the meetings with a positive attitude and be able to support one another.
Be positive! This makes for a good working environment.
It is okay for those who are not outspoken to work on voicing their perspectives more. Those who are outspoken can work on listening more to others’ opinions.
Be professional. Be on time and responsible for your individual roles.
Take pride in what we all do and what your overall group does.
Respect and value other people’s work.
Be on the same page with your group members. Let people take ownership of their work. Discuss any changes with each other.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
If you can’t make it at the last minute, send a text. It’s more effective.
When you hear a bell ring, it’s time for the whole group to be addressed.
Speak and act with purpose!
