About CHA
Community Health Ambassadors Program was started in 2014 with a grant from the National Medical Fellowships (NMF). Now in its 6th year in 2019, the program aimed to empower African American youth by training them to serve as ambassadors of health and wellness within their family and broader community. All of the students in the program are pursuing their goal to become a physician or pharmacists.
Students will engage in skill building and community health education and promotion, over 5 weeks. The program will culminate in the Ambassadors presenting a pertinent health topic of their choosing. Ambassadors will also be connected with a physician, medical students and others who will advise and assist them in preparing for medical school.
